Hi Shukla,

How did u select this particular song of KLSaigal as a debut one
when many other famous songs of Saigal saab r available?

This is a wonderful song & incidentally one of my favourites.

That is why I asked you such question.

Yes SHUKLA ji,

KLSaigal saab has put in so much of pathos in this song that this song can not
be compared to any sad / pathos song of any kind what so ever. This apart, what an amazing rendetion!

Kurukshetra's musical score is one of the least discussed musical scores among K.L.Saigal's movies. But there is no doubting high quality of its songs, composed by Pandit Ganpat Rao. Along with Kidhar Hai Tu Aye Meri Tammana, a master piece in its own right due to Saigal's magical rendering, its other master piece, Aayi Hai Tu Toh Kaise Dil Apna Dikhaoon Main, also deserves special mention for the very same qualities as Kidhar Hai Tu, flawless, masterly rendition by that ultimate crooner Kundanlal Saigal.

I have always been perplexed by one fact about Kurukshetra. The genre of movie was "Mythological" as per HFGK. However some of its songs, particularly those sung by Saigal, are in flowery Urdu. Wonder how that happened. Its so unlike songs from other mythologicals of that era whose songs used to be in chaste Hindi.

Information needed: In the song "Thukra rahee hai duniya" from the film Bhanwara(1944) who is the female singer singing this duet with Saigal? She appears near the end of the song. Earthmusic mentions only Saigal as the singer.
