Here is a song from the film 'Maya Machinder' (1932) at the link given below.

I believe this is the oldest film song whose recording is availabale.

A few nos. known to me sung by this 'master'

1. Hairat se tak raha hai...
2. Yoon na reh reh ke...
3. Chetna hai chetna...
4. Bhanwra re hum pardesi...
5. Gori gori baiyyan...
6. Mori binti maano...
7. Man hi man...

A few more sung in Punjabi which I don't know.

If this song from Alam Ara is available anywhere it would be sensational news.

People have been searching for any track from that film for decades without success and it is received wisdom that those songs are lost forever.

Surinder Dhall Ji,

'Alam Ara' (1931) was the first Talkie film. To the best of my knowledge, no recording of any song from this film is available. The oldest available song is from the film 'Maya Machinder'. I will be extremely grateful if any other song of this vintage is uploaded.
