We guess you are right....but you know we recorded same song from a radio long back in which the announcer says- the singer is- Umadevi. Looks like he made a mistake.

Many thanks for "Tum Nahi Aate Ho Nahi Aao, Yaad Se Keh Do Woh Bhi Na Aaye"

This haunting melody is from 1942 movie Sharda, in which Nirmala Devi also had a pivotal role as was the case in 1943 movie Kanoon. Both the movies had excellent songs composed by maestro Naushad. Nirmala Devi was also a renowned exponent of Hindustani classical styles such as Thumri and Dadra. Years later O.P.Nayyar recorded a duet of Nirmala Devi and Rafi in 1955 movie Musafirkhana, Jhoothe Zamane Bhar Ke.

I too endorse the request for more songs of Nirmala Devi, who happens to be mother of Govinda, today's cinestar and a MP from Mumbai.

There are four other songs by this Singer......contrary to the general statements made by music lovers whenever the name of this singer- Bishni-Lal surfaces.
